SFD Aftermath

Yesterday, the whole world celebrated Software Freedom Day, an event which celebrated Free and Open Source Software. It was held at the University of Santo Tomas, who hosted the event, and was organized by the Computer Professionals’ Union. The event ran from 8am to 5pm and was divided into a morning and an afternoon session. The morning session presented guest speakers giving a talk about certain topics. The afternoon session divided participants to 3 groups, and in each group there was a separate discussion involved.

One of the organizations that were involved in the event was Pinoy Blender User Group, which was referred in the event as “Blender Users Group”. The group took part in the afternoon session group called “Graphics Tools Jam Session”. I was one of the 3 speakers in the session, in which I talked about Open Movies. My other colleague discussed about Blender 3D in a brief manner due to some “technical problem”.*wink*

After the afternoon session, we had discussed future plans for the Open Movie that the group will be doing. All I can say about the discussion would be a quote from the Open Movie “Elephants Dream”: “Everything is safe… Perfectly safe…”

Me and my colleague talked abit about things related to the FOSS methodology. Some of the ideas were very creative, most of the other ideas were not that promising yet fun to imagine. And up to this time, I am still thinking of stuff related to FOSS methodology. Earlier, I watched a video in YouTube that may not be intended to be related to the FOSS spirit yet if you analyze the video, it is somewhat embedded in the video.

Long live Software Freedom! :D
